“generative iterations”
How OLIWON came to light
It all began with a somewhat inevitably meditative practice.
No specific plans, no sketches.
Expectations were entirely removed, replaced by a blind commitment to the process: showing up and listening to the new shapes, as they gradually emerged from an ocean of repetitive ones.
A preliminary step of making every piece consisted of repeating the same motif, over and over again.
Soon enough, an army of silver jump rings proliferated on the bench.
As they came together, they engaged in their own dialogue and slowly gave birth to a new vocabulary of forms: rings, earrings, necklaces in soothing round shapes to adorn our body and soul.
With time, a seemingly ungrateful set of tasks revealed itself being an immensely nourishing routine.
Having to repeat cycles time after time might appear as deceiving at first.
Yet, what if we patiently learn to let go of the outcome and listen to what the (un)known has to teach us?
